hogoboom2012:  I wish I had the courage to even simply say “I’m sorry, but…”. I’m currently in this situation – wedding is 3 weeks out. I caved. I caved months ago when we started planning. I had mentioned in my previous engagement that I wanted her in my bridal party. That ended (thankful!) and this relationship progressed to engagement.

We were chatting one day and she brought it up “What color are our dresses, I need to order mine” – nothing… I caved, because I am a pansy and I let people do whatever. I am regretting every minute of this decision. I wanted my 2 closest girlfriends involved – my (5) sisters are not even part of my wedding. It was so important to me to have them and I just let it go with Bridesmaid or Best Man3… I hate the decision but I remind myself that the only thing it means is that there is one more person in the photos.

Then again, there won’t be one more person in the photos anyway, since she STILL hasn’t ordered her dress…

TL;DR – tell her no if she brings it up. Keep it simple – I wanted my party intimate and very tiny.
