I have a cousin in Australia getting married soon in Melbourne. I wanted to send along a wedding gift and thought it would be easiest to have something off the registry delivered locally. But I can’t seem to find a wedding website or registry just by googling the couples’ names.
Is there some other way to find an Australian wedding registry? Are registries less common in Australia? I know I could just ask them, but I liked the idea of a surprise.

Wedding registries are common in Australia, but often privacy settings are there so you can’t just google them. Can you ask someone else, e.g. the cousin’s mother? Otherwise you might need to ask them directly.
ETA: Or you could take a guess, and search the Myer registry here: http://www.myer.com.au/p/our-services/myer-bridal-and-gift-registry/02-find-a-registry/ . Myer is a higher-end department store and is fairly popular for bridal registries. David Jones is another one. There are also a number of web-based registries. e.g. there is “Not another toaster”, but I can’t see a way to search that by couple’s name.

It’s normal etiquette in my circle that you ask the mother of the bride for the registery information. If you cannot get in contact with the MOB or MOG maybe a sibling of either of them. If that’s also out of the question, you could ask the bride or groom directly if they are registered.
