We are going with a Sandals resort and our agent told us to wait until the middle of summer because that’s when they discount their rates the most. Hope that helps!

Book through a travel agent – we got a great deal in that price range for our weddingmoon and they gave us even more discounts.  We booked around the beginning of summer for a winter wedding.

Royal Bahamian is a gorgeous resort, if not a little dated.  The staff was wonderful, and our wedding was perfect.

daisy92:  I would do a google search and also maybe ask around?  Yes, we booked 7-8 months in advance and got a decent deal so you should be fine.

We’re going to Sandals Grande Riviera in October. I searched for months and went back & forth about exactly where we wanted to go before coming to that decision.  When I decided to go with an agent, I was surprised by the first couple I talked to.  They didn’t have answers to simple things I was requesting & I felt like I had become more knowledgeable on the subject.  (i.e. me: “I want to do a private dinner on the beach one night” response: “um, let me contact Sandals and see if they offer that.”… me: “I’m interested in getting a Club MoBay pass ” response: “I’ve never heard of that, must be through a different resort”… I was not comfortable with choosing someone who wasn’t familiar with every aspect of this vacation.)  Luckily I stumbled upon a vacation blog by a frequent traveler.  She raves about her agent throughout her posts, so I contacted her. Amy McHugh at Dream Makers Vacations http://dreammakersvaca.com/  I really like the quick thorough responses I get from her. We haven’t traveled yet, but so far I’d recommend her.

Good information, by all! Especially waiting to check prices until this summer (we’re not going until Febryary 2015), and to talk with a travel agent instead.

We booked our Sandals Honeymoon (9 nights), with airfare, for $5400 through Bookit.com! It was the most affordable option we found.

Good Luck!!
