tm6173 :  are you nursing? That can continue to mess with your hormones.

I’m guessing things are just still regulating since it was only your first cycle back after having your baby. I had my first postpartum period at 5 months (despite exclusively breastfeeding…grr!), and my LP was only 5 days! I know this because I had confirmed ovulation with OPKs.

I’m now on CD 30 something of my second cycle and pretty sure I have not yet ovulated. Before having my baby, I always ovulated between CD12-15, like clockwork, and would have a 14-day LP. I’m not worried about it though…I assume it might take a little while for things to regulate? I’d talk to your OBGYN tho if you are really concerned!

tm6173 :  your body probably just needs a little more time to regulate. Pregnancy changes it all up! If you’re really concerned I’d call the obgyn, but personally I’d give it a couple more months. My period returned 9 months PP even though I was still nursing and it was like clockwork. Then I stopped nursing at 20 months and it’s been all over the place since! Similar to you actually, spotting for several days, then a couple days of real flow, with more spotting at the end. I had my hormones tested since we’re getting ready to do a frozen embryo transfer and they were all normal so who knows lol.

I think things take a while to regulate, my first cycle (after 9.5 months pp) was 23 days with about a 9-10 day LP and my second was 29 days with a 12 day LP, first period was just 5 days of spotting and next two were much heavier. PMS symptoms are different (no more sore breasts but now I seem to get cramping about 3-4 days after ovulation). It’s a little strange maybe since you are no longer breast feeding, but people adjust at different rates. Some people go back to normal (or get pregnant) immediately off the pill and some take months to get a period. Good luck!

Also @tiffanybruiser I had 3 days of heavy spotting around 5 months pp (while ebf) and then nothing for like 4.5 months. Still not sure if that was a period or not… but considering my first real one was barely more than spotting it may have been?

I got my cycle back at six weeks pp with baby #3 and it’s taken a full year for it to regulate. Girlfriend is EBF and we’ve done a fair amount of bedsharing so go figure on getting it back so early! (Especially when I got to at least twelve months pp with my older two!)

I read the title completely wrong! I was thinking, “Is it even possible after baby 15?”

Commenting to follow!

I’m coming up on 15 months pp and I’ve only had 3-4 periods so far, but cycles have ranged from like 1 week to 2 months. It sucks! I’m still BFing so I’m hoping that has something to do with the wonkiness and it’ll regulate at some point…

Interesting! I’d be good with another 4.5 month break from AF! mrsnnn3 :
