We would really like to collect all the guest photos we can from the wedding, and are trying to figure out the best way to get guests to actually do it. I know there are apps out there, but I’m thinking most people do not want to download a new app just for our wedding, right? I want to make it as easy as possible on people. What are the best ways you married bees have gotten people to share their photos? We’re open to any and all options – sharing sites, email, whatever. It’s probably too late for us to do printed cards with instructions, and we’ve already sent out a ton of thank you notes in advance of the wedding, so we’d probably have to communicate by a sign at the wedding and/or by email after.

I will be using a instagram hashtag. Depending on the age of your guests they may or may not be into that idea. I have seen a lot of other weddings do this. We will have 8×10 picture frames throughout with signs that say if you instagram please use #GloverWedding. This way we can search instagram for all of the #gloverwedding photos and save them to our phones then computer. If you have guests more comfortable with facebook. They could just tag you to one or two of the photos they post and you can go back to look at the pics later and download. I’m just trying to think of options where you don’t have to download an app or program or go to a website.

I’d like an answer to this too, since neither of us uses instagram. Currently we have the WedSocial app set up but who knows if people will actually use it.

definitely use a hash tag. they work on facebook now just like they do with instagram. also, people who do use facebook and not instagram can still tag you in the photos even if they don’t quite ‘get’ the whole hashtag thing.
i personally know that i would not get around to downloading an app for a wedding but i have used wedding hashtags in the past and think they’re fun
also, i plan to leave my personal digital camera on a table with a sign that says something to the effect of ‘bride’s camera. please take pictures throughout the night for the couple to enjoy en route to their honeymoon.’ it feels like a little more personal/updated version of disposable cameras everywhere with the instant gratification factor. i think it will be fun to see what kinds of additional photos we get that way 🙂
