Hi y’all! The cutest man in the world and I are tying the knot in Spring 2015 and would like my Roman Catholic Deacon uncle to officiate. I’ve Googled and gone cross-eyed and found lots of information on how to become a deacon, but can’t for the life of me figure out how to get the OK from Louisiana to have a Mississippian officiate.
Does anyone here know what forms I need to ask for? Are there special dispensations from the church and the state that I should be aware of?

Louisiana <br /> Ministers of the gospel or priests of any denomination in regular communion with any religious society may perform marriages. — Ministers must register with the clerk of the district court of the parish or with the health department if in New Orleans. — After performing a marriage, the minister must complete a marriage certificate and return it to the clerk of the district court. — For questions see the clerk of the district court.
Surely you can ask the priest at your church if your uncle would be allowed to officiate?
