@starlitgirl:  I WISH!  My grandparents are pretty awesome, but they’re probably not THAT famous outside my home province.

AlmostMrsJPS:  I suspect you are more starstruck than your guests will be, they are adults. It would not occur to me to even worry about the issue. If your famous guest is worried about interacting with the peasants I am sure they will politely decline your invitation, though I doubt they feel that way.

Don’t stress over such small stuff.

Clint Eastwood showed up at my aunt and uncle’s wedding. No one lost their shit. Everyone behaved normally and no one pestered him for autographs. Most adults know how to be polite about this sort of thing.

AlmostMrsJPS:  If he does a lot to stay off the radar, I don’t think you should announce his presence or tell people that he is planning on coming or anything like that. Unless he is uber famous, most people probably won’t recognize him anyway.

Curious to know how this turned out, if the wedding has taken place. I do want to add that I taught a child of a very famous sports star, and when said star and wife came to school for events/conferences, etc, no one treated them any different. In addition, this person is seen often around town, particularly in the super market and no one in town goes bezerk over seeing him. Its actually pretty normal.

I think your guests will act appropriately. If not, you might need a better list of invitees 😉

Don’t say anything.  I work with many Stars.  This won’t be their first time in a semi public environment.  Likely he is an old pro.   Celebrities are complex.  They are flattered when people acknowledge them and annoyed at the same time.  But I assure you they have figured out how to negotiate their lives.  If they were truly concerned, they would bring a ‘body guard’ type of guest with them to run interferance.
