I’m a regular poster, but I really just don’t feel like being myself today… or any day lately to be honest.
Do you ever feel like you’re just in a funk with life?
I have a great life and I should be completely happy with it, but I just can’t seem to be happy lately.
I feel like a total whiner right now, but I just don’t have anyone else to talk to. I’m always the happy/positive one of the group and I really don’t think any of my friends will understand why I’m so unhappy. I don’t really even know why…
I’ve thought about trying new things. Maybe I need to just keep myself busy? All of my friends are away at school or have recently moved away. I guess I’m just lonely.
Sorry for my pity party.
Please, if you have mean things to say just keep them to yourself.

aww..sorry that you’re in a funk. I have days like that…try to stay positive. If your friends ave moved away maybe you should join some groups or something..make new ones..book club, gym? something like that…just an idea…hope this helps…SMILE, someone in CA is thinking of you (me )….

I’ve been in a funk for weeks. Maybe even months. But yesterday was particularly bad.

Sorry you feel like this:( Ugh, no fun…. Something will give! Either things will change and you’ll feel like yourself again, or you might be falling into depression. Depression can start many ways and can affect anyone. How long have you been feeling like this?
Take it easy and “go with the flow” if you don’t start feeling “back to normal” in a couple of weeks you might want to seek out a professional or tell someone close to you that would understand.
I def go through these periods and battled with depression as a young adult. I still feel like I am more prone to bouts of depression than most but refuse to let them take over. Sometimes it’s too overwhelming and I do get in a bad funk for a couple of weeks. I always manage to creep out of it! I also think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I’m an inherently lazy person 🙂

@gocubbies- about 2 weeks. I’m usually pretty active and I like to stay busy, but I’ve just felt really lethargic and I haven’t had any desire to go to the gym or even leave the house if I don’t have to. How do you pull yourself out of it? Every night I tell myself that tomorrow I’m going to do something to change my mood and I just never do.

I’m prone to not feeling down, especially when I get stressed out. Forcing myself to get out and do something (walk, yoga, browse the bookstore) normally gets me feeling better. Its hard when friends move, we’re in the same position right now. I think I’ll try getting involved with my college’s alumni association.

i take a ‘me’ day. i go get a massage or even just a dip in the hot tub. i put on a hair mask and a face mask. i do my nails. it usually gives me a little lift to get me going again.

I was in a funk not too long ago and what helped me was signing up for 2 classes both related to hobbies/activities that I love. It took a little while but it was really amazing…it made my life much more balanced. Twice a week I have these classes I look forward to and I’ve made a ton of new friends in each class. I don’t even think it matters what the subject of the classes are…it’s just a way of getting out there, meeting new people and letting new energy come into your life.
hope that helps, I know you will come out of it just fine. Also, remember that having funks is normal…everyone gets them! 🙂

I’ve been in a funk for probably a couple of months and if I knew how to get out of it I’d surely let you know! I also just wanted to say that I can completely relate to your feelings, so know that you aren’t alone.
