Some states have laws stating it should be returned to the person who bought it. You could try Craigslist if you want to deal locally, but I would probably prefer to use something like exboyfriendjewelry.

Why not have it reset? Maybe make a necklace or dinner ring.

I vote for pawn shop or many local jewelry stores will take it as a trade or give you some $ for it. You wont get a lot but its better then keeping it.

I would take it to a jeweler and have them make it into something else!

I agree, either drop it in the mail and send it back to him or just go pawn it for some cheap dough. If you’ve had trouble selling it already, there’s probably a reason for it. If there’s no sentimentality attached to the stone, reset it.

It is free, make sure you read some Craigslist tips first. Deal only in cash (don’t accept checks), meet in a neutral location (don’t give your address out) like a bank or supermarket, and if it looks at all like the person can’t type in English, it’s just a spam reply.

My sister (who bought her own ring as well) just sold it to a coworker. I had mine made into a pendant, and now I finally have a diamond necklace! But it’s been over 10 years for me, so the memories aren’t really attached to it anymore. Good luck selling your ring!

Definitely take it to a pawn shop…but not just one. I would go to several to see who will give you the most money for it!

@go4me77: A high school relationship resulting in a ring being bought at walmart is making you upset? Just stuff in it a drawer, give it a girlfriend or pawn it cheap.
