(Closed) How to get rid of a scar? Anyone know a good product or remedy to make it fade?

The cream they show on TV a lot is Mederma.  I’ve never really had any luck with it.  The one thing that really works for me is time and moisturizer.

@sweetchiquita12:  Your best bet would be to see a dermatogist.  I think there are laser treatments that can give good results.

I would be hesistant with topical products, as I suspect many of them don’t improve the appearance.  One of the things I hear about on tv is BioOil, but I have no idea if it works.

I’ve has some luck with rubbing vitamin E on mine. They sell it in liquid form or you can buy the gel capsules and poke a hole in them.

For drastic results though, I agree with AB Bride, a dermatologist is your best bet.

If it is a scar that is already healed and has been there a while most of the over the counter products aren’t going to do much. Vitamin E is the best when it is a fresh scar. But if you have had it for a while I would head to the dermatolagist and go for laser treatment.
