I seriously have bad love handles. It’s gross. My over all weight is fine (I’m 5’6 120-125lbs) and maybe my arms aren’t as toned as I’d like, and my thighs aren’t exactly perfect or anything, but my flipping love handles drive me bananas. I’m happy with my image other than that. I know pants would fit better, and I’d look nicer in lingerie and bathing suits (forget about wearing anything with strings or thin bands at the sides. barf) and I would love if my husband would stop squeezing them… ugh. I don’t even know why he does it. HATE IT! But they’re seriously gross (at least in my opinion lol not posting pics here or anything). So what can be done to get rid of them, besides liposuction (if only, if only lol)?

Cardio, cardio, cardio!!! And then some crunches 🙂

There’s really no way to target them. Cardio is really the best way. I massage mine like crazy when I apply lotion but that’s really just the power of positive thinking, imagining I could break up the fat.

The only way to lose extra subcutaneous tissue under the skin (aka fat) is to increase caloric output (cardiovascular exercise) and decrease caloric intake (food). You can do crunches until the cows come home but you will just tone the muscle under the fat.
Remember everyone has ABS but everyone just has a different layer of tissue over top of them.
I am with you on SO grabbing wobbly bits – Why do they do that?????

Yeah, cardio INTERVALS specifically. Burns off fat and let’s face it, love handles are fat. Sigh =(
Some side planks will help tone though. Or pick up a heavy weight and do side bends.
My SO likes to grab, too! But he doesn’t like it when i grab his stomach. Seriously are men dense about women’s bodies? Sheesh!

@joeyswive I feel your pain! I am your height and about the same weight as you as well…
i wish I could dream them away! my only advice…cardio (blah!) 🙂

I echo ejs on the intervals. I alternate running and walking and burn more calories than a straight constant cardio. It’s better for weight loss, but not if you’re training for a marathon.

@Latte lol I won’t be training for any marathons. I HATE running. ugh. hate.
Glad to know I’m not the only one with a SO that likes to grab the chub. I really don’t get it, especially since fat is generally an extreme adversion of my husband’s. I complain that he grabs it and he just says “but I still find you attractive!” lol sheesh At least he’s not rubbing my food-baby belly, yet..

Also remember to do back exercises. Ab work outs are only as good as you do the back as well. The 30 day shred has some moves that might help.
Sometimes when I am just standing around (cooking etc) I do side to side bends. It really helps with the sides. You can even hold weights in your hands to add resistance.
