Argh! How sad is this? I’m 29 but still getting pimples when I get my period? I’ve tried Clinque skin care, Proactive, Cetaphil, even had microdermabrasion every 3 weeks! Still no help. I tried going to dermatologist and she prescribed me a pill but that made me nauseous. It’s not a teenager type of pimple but more cyst like. How do you ladies deal? Help! I am dreading that I’ll have pimples on my wedding day.

Wow, you have tried a lot, wish I could be of more help! I like the website acne.org, have you tried it?

I deal with cysts as well, and I have tried almost everything to get rid of them.It wasn’t until recently that I found something that truly helped. I did some research and found that vitamins really do help with acne. I now take whole food vitamins that contain a great amount of vitamin A. After just a few weeks my skin looks great! I also suggest that you try staying away from dairy as it can provoke cystic acne.

accutane was the only thing that worked for me.

I’ve heard of people getting good results with Zeno, but I’ve never tried it myself. You could try looking into that?

I love the Zeno! I have been using it for years. It’s really good for the big red ones that are sort of under the skin.

Go back to your dermatologist!! Ive taken numerous oral meds for my skin.. if its bothering your stomach, you need to tell your doctor and get something new. I remember the days of waking up at 5am, taking a pill with a full glass of water, just so I could hold down my breakfast at 7am before I went to work. Its not fun.. so talk to your doc before you start trying things that could make it worse. Even if you just call and say its not working… you may be able to get a script over the phone.

I notice a huge difference depending on the foods I eat. Also, drinking a ton of water really does help. In addition, baking soda masks….weird, google it. And for emergency help, NEOSPORIN! Hey–it’s antibiotic based!

Are you taking birth control? That can help too! I’ve been on it for years for acne. I use proactive too though.

I have this problem too! It’s only bad when I get my period & a week or so after. I’m on BC but it still sucks, and I love my dairy, so it would be so hard to not have any. 🙁

Mary Kay skin care is the answer…I know so many women who have switched to Mary Kay products and works wonders. The Microderm set costs $55 and lasts almost 4 months when used 2 times a week. The Miracle Set has a cleanser, day and night solutions, and moisturizer for different types of skin. There is also the acne treatment gel that is only $7 but gets rid of the bad ones you need spot treatments on.
