Do you pick your favorite colors..?
Season colors?
Where did you get your inspiration?

Where did you get your inspiration?
I wanted my Fiance to be involved when we started planning our wedding but he “didn’t want to make decisions”. One day, I threw a wedding magazine (I think it was Martha Stewart Weddings) into his lap and told him to go through it and find at least one color he liked. He choose “cornflower blue” from a David’s Bridal ad and we went from there!
For me I am having a beach wedding so I wanted brighter colors. Then last summer I saw a wedding where the men were all wearing gray rather than black and I loved it! So I decided on gray for sure. Then just searched inspiration of gray weddings online until I fell in love with gray and yellow as my color scheme. I would just google wedding receptions you get lots of different ideas and visions.
I had always wanted blue to by one of my colors, so that was easy. The other color we considered first, green, seemed too planty to us, so we randomly decided on orange, and that was that.
I love peacock feathers and purple is my favorite color. I googled inspiration boards for these and came up with these links:

So there it is, our colors are purple and teal, gray suits for the guys, peacock feathers thrown in where applicable. I have just added on inspiration that I love that will fit in as we have begun to figure out what we want. If we have other coordinating colors pop up in the scheme (greens, blues, silvers and golds, etc.), fabulous. I felt sure that Fiance would think it too girly for him, but he really likes it.
At first I wanted to do one of my favorite colors and one of his but then I decided to go with the colors I’m more drawn to. It’s more natural for me. He likes the colors too so it works for all parties concerned.
Pick your favotite colors. Whatever looks good on you. Mine are green and brown, guys in an expresso girls in a moss green. Very nature like. When you close your eyes what do you see your day as? Bright or Neutral? Another idea is go to the paint department and play with swatches and see how they all look together and you can take them with you to decide. good luck!
I had color combinations picked out ( I had already changed my mind twice). One day I was looking through a magazine and saw fuschia and navy. I wore the color combo the next day and said “Yeah!! These are my wedding colors!” I am going to put some gray/silver as an accent color.
i decided years ago that my bridesmaids dresses would be the same color as my high school prom dress. because seriously, until i bought my wedding dress, i have never been in love more with a dress than i had been with my prom dress! i was so in love with the color that i knew i had no other choice. so for a while, this lavender/purple was my only wedding color. then i realized i kept wanting “red” in there somwhere and i love how red and dark purple go together. so i just decided my wedding colors are basically shades of purple and red. i am very excited to get my BMs red rose bouquets to go with their purple dresses!
so i basically just chose my fave colors – has nothing to do with season or venue!
Well, I had my husband non-negotiably wearing a red suit, so I had to pick colours that worked with that. Then I wanted colors that just looked fresh and natural, so I ended up with green tea green and white.
Our inspiration was a pair of DHs favorite shoes that are green and yellow – which are also our favorite colors! Then we added brown because we thought it would complement nicely.
I didn’t have any wedding colors! I still don’t understand why weddings need a color theme. My Maid/Matron of Honor wore black, our bouquets were multicolored.
we choose blue and green – our favorite colors! i knew i wanted something bright, so it worked nicely!
We were getting married outside and I just love the look of white linens with a nature background of bright green grass & trees.
So most everything was white (white lanterns, table clothes, napkins, flowers, etc.) and then our accent color was the “grass” a very natural green (which were the colors of my BMs dresses, invitations, escort cards, etc.)
