Pink is my signature color, my favorite color… I thought about going with blue, which would have been an unexpected color for me, but then I had to go with my true self.

Since we eloped and there was just the two of us, we really didn’t have wedding colors.  But I did have pink shoes, pink flowers in my hair and a few pink roses in my bouquet.  The only other color I wore was ivory.  Jim wore a blue/gray suit, a gray vest and tie, sapphire tie pin and cuff links, and an ivory rose boutonniere.

The color was very subtle…nothing over the top at all.

@doingathing: I think people just like to have certain colors so that they can tie things in together so that things look like they “go” together. Especially paper products and details

My hubby really didn’t have an opinion, so I selected based on my favorite colors, the season, and flower availability.  I also considered the diversity in shape of my bridesmaids.  My BM’s ranged from a size 2 to a size 22, so I thought that black would be the best color.  I then wanted a “pop” of color (fuschia/hot pink) for their bouquets that would look lovely in our indoor garden setting.

Mine was a Fall wedding, so I got my inspiration from the leaves. My colors were apple and tangerine with gold accents. I also had bling, of ocurse 🙂

It evolved. It started out as apple green and purple…. The bridesmaids dresses determined that it would be a meadow green and I let the candle bearers (FH’s sisters) choose their own color purple which set the color for the wedding. Its an Amethyst.  So meadow green and Amethyst.

Fiance kept talking about how he wanted to incorporate our favorite show, Doctor Who. There’s no way I was having a Doctor Who themed wedding, lol, so we took the colors from the Tardis (shown below) and chose blue and white. They’ve morphed into being light blue, white and gold, but that’s what started us down that path :).

@jo.lee: I just have to tell you that this post makes you my hero 😀

At first, I was bound and determined to use my favorite color, antique lavender. But then I realized how much it would clash with our venue and reception (our church). Then I tried the process in reverse and tried to think of colors that would look good in the sanctuary (which is burgundy with medium wood) and the fellowship hall (dusty blue and taupe). We’ve ended up with a wheat/taupe and accents of dusty rose, which (I think) will work well in both areas and which I think are gorgeous!

@BlueRidgeMere: Lol, thanks! Fiance is wearing a bow tie too, and I’m going to attempt a Tardis grooms cake for the rehearsal dinner :-).

Look around your house.  What colors have you chosen to surrond yourself with?  I chose colors I like and I felt were elegant–I went with brown (mocha), gold and ivory even though it’s a spring wedding are they aren’t traditional spring colors.  Go with what you think looks good.  I have a ribbon I often wrap in my hair because I love the color and without even realizing it at the time–it’s the color of my bridesmaid dresses.

We started w/ chocolate and pink (my favorite color) because I thought it would look good. But then I felt too much of the “4 year old birthday party” vibe. I decided I would do away w/ the pink and use Tiffany Blue instead.

I really wish I would’ve put more consideration into our colors. Too bad I didn’t find WB while planning (I found this website 2 months before getting married) because I would’ve realized I had more choices and to have fun with it. For our Fall wedding I would’ve went w/ autumn colors of browns, reds, purples, oranges, greens, etc.

Our decision was pretty easy–ex-FI’s favourite colour is red, and one of my faves is aqua/teal–thank goodness the combo is gorgeous! LOL!

We are getting married a week before valentines day, originally I wanted to do red, but I don’t want my wedding to be associated with valentines AT ALL!! So we went with Blush pink, Ivory, and Gold.

Everyone has such pretty, creative color schemes!
