@FutureMrsJohnson_:  LOL yep!

Seriously, flowing drinks and a DJ that knows his/her stuff, and you are set!

We’re having an ice cream truck, it’s $300 to serve 150 people, which is cheaper than I thought it would be. If you’re feeling uninspired you could hire some kind of food truck! (I dunno if you’re from Seattle or a smaller city/town, but Seattle has a really good foodie scene.) The other thing we’re doing is temporary tattoos – we bought some with our monogram on them (very cheap – I think it was $10 from Tattoo Manufacturing with a coupon!) and a bunch of random ones (dinosaurs, flowers, etc.) for the kids, but I have a feeling that the adults will have fun with them too. We put on some really funny temporary tats at my bachelorette party so I was thinking of continuing the fun. Just some ideas!

@icetea:  Oh boo 🙁  If it makes you feel any better though, our signature cocktails were HUGE hits!  We did a blueberry mint julep and a white peach sangria.  Maybe they will let you do a sangria on top of your liquor based signature drink, since it just needs wine?

I’m not doing these things, but I wanted to. However budget contraints and such 🙂

1. Invite some extra people who are really fun! (Meaning, maybe you aren’t SUPER close with them but you know they know how to have a good time!)
2. Photobooth!!
3. Awesome DJ/Cool lights.
4. Good food. Doesn’t have to be great, just good food.
5. Open bar with cocktails!
6. Great speeches or great MC

Cool/different wedding decor to spark converstion.

We get a free ice sculpture in our wedding package, with a choice from four designs. My fiance said they were all dumb, and could they do the famous Love statue format, but have it say Beer!

I emailed my venue, and for a custom ice sculpture its was a $200 dollar fee. So we will have an ice sculpture in our cocktail hour room that is in the Love format, but says BEER. It is so my fiance, its his wedding too.

FYI-he home brews his own beer. So this relates to who we are!

Food, Booze and Music.  Three things that will for sure make any wedding reception (or  any party) suuuuuuper fun.

We’re having a DIY bar (not not really open bar) but we’ll have alcohol and will hopefully have enough for people to have a good time (fi’s family like to drink).  I don’t know how good our dj is but we’re providing him with a detailed song selection list to get the party started and keep it pumping all night (or until it’s time to leave LOL).  And the food!  We’re actually not going all out with food as we’re on a budget but at our tastng it was really good.  I know most people will enjoy it (can’t please everyone) and that there will be enough for everyone to be satisfied.

I went to a wedding last month where there were no decorations, no assigned seating, only hor dourves for food (and it was a surprise to me. i was expecting dinner and then they started cutting the cake!), i didn’t get any cake, BUT there was an open bar and a good DJ. I had a great time!!! A little hungry… but it was still awesome!!! and that wedding was $40,000!!! I can’t imagine. LOL. All weddings can be a great time!!

Oh temp tattoos!!

I wonder if I could get the artist who is designing my touch up and SO’s first tattoo to do a temp tattoo design for our wedding!
