I don’t normally like to write posts like this but..
We’ve been blessed. I mean, super blessed. It’s been a tough last few years for both of us but somehow God has gotten us through all of this. He’s been faithful just like his word says–that as long as we trust in Him. I mean, honestly I couldn’t ask for more…
…except the faith that we can make it once the wedding is over. I feel like we’ve been saving up for our big day for so long (almost a year before we got engaged) and yet here we are, worrying about our future. Living on our own was wonderful, God really blessed me with a second job when I needed it and I decided to quit that second job after I was too stressed to keep working both.
We recently heard that Fiance needs to get braces again, and I’m hoping that now that his boss is back from maternity leave he can try to get another job. It’s just that with the wedding five months away and all of these things coming up I’m scared we won’t be able to afford getting our own place after we get married. And I’m sick of all of these people’s questions when I don’t know the answers. I know God will bless us, it’s just tough when the world presses you for all these secrets I don’t know.
I guess I just have to keep reminding myself…Matthew 6:26 “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

Hang in there Hon!!! Here are the words that I truly live by ” Let go and Let GOD!!!”. He will always find a way it may not come when we want it but he’s always on time. We’re feeling a little overwhelmed with wedding planning (financially and mentally) knowing that we’re on our own (no help from our parents). I’ve prayed on it and set my mind to have a special day no matter what and buying a home hopefully soon after the big day. Really just hang in there. I wish you all the best!!!

We’ve been really worried lately, too, and “God will provide.” and “Who of you by worrying can add a single cubit to his height?” have been like chants around here.
Oh, and Phillipians 4:6

@helenberrycrunch: I just have to keep reminding myself that as long as we are good stewards of the money we have been blessed with God will continue to keep us covered.

That’s so true. One of my principles is to meet God halfway. I read it in Where the Red Fern Grows when I was but a lass, and it just stuck with me.

I love this verse: “Give me neither riches nor poverty, but let me be fed with the food that is needful for me” (Prov. 30:8).
We have been living on savings/wedding present money to get ourselves through grad school. (Though I work part time but very, very part time). Since we’re in school, we always have the safety net of taking out loans, but we really don’t want to since we want to start a family and buy a house after we graduate. So it’s a few years of living simply – not going out to movies, not buying new clothes, missing out on flying home for every wedding. You’ll get through.

@SweetRose2011: That is so true. God always keeps his promises and comes thru right on time.

That as you sow into the store house the windows of heaven will open and pour out a blessing where there isn’t even room to receive it… AND that the consequence of sin will NOT eat up your harvest!
One of my favorites to stand on.. I WILL not have health issues, car issues, home issues, or ANY other issue that will eat up my financial security!
And even better it’s the only place He says “TEST ME!”
And I like
That all your needs will be met according to HIS riches and glory
And just know that as you seek Him all that you need will be added unto you (Matt 6:33) And that He makes a way in the wilderness and rivers in the dessert (Isaiah 43:19) and that He will go before you as you follow him and make the crooked places straight! (Isaiah 45:2)
Those are some of my favorite in prayer…..
OH and one of the best…
Isaiah 55:11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
Hope those encourage you girl! 😉

In addition to everything else encouraging above, my Mother-In-Law told me: “The best years of our marriage were the ones where we were struggling (financially).”

@ellabee Oh I love that… not that I want to struggle but to see and hear with the understanding that it was in those times that they pulled together and really stood on their promise. OH I LOVE IT!
