“Baby Smith” is indeed what babies are called before they are named. It used to be that parents would not reveal a child’s name until its baptism, sometimes for weeks or months after the birth. During that time it would simply be called “Baby” as if that were its name.

How cute!  We’ll have a couple too.  We didn’t put the newborns’ name on the invite, we didn’t even think of it.  But of course they’re invited lol and our friends know.

We had about 5 of these … I went the “Baby Lastname” route.
