How about your favors being fish-shaped chocolates or other candy?

Or you could make fish-shaped cream cheese mints. (I’m making sea-turtle cream cheese mints for my weddings!)

Or a fishing-themed groom’s cake.

1.Buy small plain tin boxes (preferably with no labels on them) and paint the tins a pale to medium green with enamel spray paint (do this in a well ventilated area). Once dry, stick some children’s fish stickers here and there on the tin. Fill up with gummy worms and present your wedding guests with their own “tackle” box wedding favors.

2. Pick up packs of “Go Fish” playing cards and wrap in netting or fish theme wrapping paper.

3. Make your own fish shaped soaps or chocolates

4. fill up a small bucket with swedish fish-tag could say “Catch of the Day Fishman and Fishwoman” OR Hooked on Love-Fishman and Fishwoman OR “It’s- O- FISH- AL”

5. fish cookie cutters with swedish fish wrapped in tulle & fish shaped key chains

I like the idea of Go Fish playing cards ๐Ÿ™‚ You could wrap them up cute with a tag explaining the game. Otherwise a fishing-themed cake would look great too.

A few ideas:

Cute bags of goldfish crackers

Cake topper with a fishing theme (I’ve seen one with the bride “catching” the groom)

Fish shaped escort cards

Fish shaped chocolates. Ridiculously easy and inexpensive to DIY.

Sorry, I forgot that you also asked for other ideas.

Songs: Garth Brooks “The River”

Brad Paisley “I’m going to Miss Her”

centerpieces- wooden boats from Michaels with cattails

Ring bearer could carry a  fishing bears; made by Eagle Claw,  at Joe’s(formerly GI Joe’s). Cut the fishing line off and replace it with a thin blue satin ribbon and attached your rings to each ribbon.

Use old wicker creels for a card box. If you want to go all out use a wooden boat for a place to put gifts.

What about these placecard holders that your guest could take home with them?

Darling Husband and I both fly fish so it was important for us to incorporate our love of fishing in our wedding as well (but not in an over the top way).  We named the tables after rivers in OR and WA we have fished and we also used a creel for our card “box” and put some flies in our wedding colors on it (including ones that held the “cards” sign).
