I just asked all of my bridesmaids to be in my wedding and they are all very excited. The problem is only two of them know each other…what would be a cute way to do a “getting to know” the bridesmaids? ALL of them are from out of town (ranging from 1 hr from where I live to Washington, DC to Ohio and London, England) I want them to know how I know each of the bridesmaids and why they hold a special place in my heart…I have no idea how to do this!!! and I would like for there to be a way for them to communicate also…

My BM’s didn’t know each other either, so I invited them all to dinner to introduce them. In your case, maybe you can set up an online video conference using Webex or FreeConference. Another option is to create a Facebook group where your BM’s can post little bios and say hi to each other.

Hi there – – I have 5 bridesmaids and they don’t all know each other either. They are kind of spread throughout the US so they’ll be meeting at my bachelorette weekend in San Francisco. We’re having that in Aug and then my wedding is at the end of Oct. They’re also all going to be at one of my showers….YAY

My BMs will meet each other at our engagement party, but I gave my Maid/Matron of Honor all of the other BM’s emails. Apparently they have been emailing each other back and forth a little bit. I think that jen’s suggestion of a fb page is a good idea, since they are international.

Everyone in our wedding party is also geographically scattered all over the place and some of them had never met. I ended up making a “Get to Know Each Other” newsletter in .pdf format that I emailed to all of them. It included a photo of everyone, a brief description of how I knew them, some random facts about each person, and contact information. I suspect the guys didn’t bother reading it, but the women seemed to really appreciate it.

@redherring-I think the pdf is a great idea! maybe a pic and kind of a synopsis of each of them sounds like a great idea.
@jenbrandner-I think the fbook page is a great idea also!
I may just have to do both 😉
