Hey bees! It seems as though many of us are buying our first homes, myself included! We just removed subjects today and are just waiting for our closing date. 🙂 YAY!
Anyway, I’m coming from a high rise condo, where you might say hello to your neighbors in the elevator, but not too much beyond that. The house we bought is still in the city and therefore, pretty close to our neighbors. I know that traditionally, the established neighbors go over and introduce themselves.. but if that doesn’t happen, I would still like to be a little friendly with my neighbors.
All that said, do you have any ideas for how to introduce ourselves? Maybe a letter left at their doors? Something else? I would never knock on their doors because I’m a wuss and don’t open my own door to anyone! LOL! Have any of your new neighbors done anything that stands out? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! 🙂 Thanks!

Maybe it’s a Southern thing, but I have never just gone up to someone’s house to introduce myself and no one has ever come to mine. We sort of just talk when we are both outside which usually ends in us standing at the fence and getting to know each other.
Personally I don’t want anyone just popping over to my house. Then I have to ninja crawl around and make sure you aren’t a mass murderer or anything and how awkward is it to get caught peeking out of the blinds at someone? Pretty awkward, trust me. I say just wait until you catch them already outside and make it a point to compliment their landscaping or something. Then you can introduce yourself and chat for a bit. After that wave at them any time you are both outside (then again, in my town you wave at everyone, so I don’t know if that is normal haha)

HAHAHA! I do the ninja crawl too! Which is why I would never stop by unannounced! I was thinking a “card” or something to introduce ourselves left on their doorstep.. but perhaps I will just wait til we see each other. If they knock on my door, I guess will have to get up the courage to answer it! lol!! Thanks!!

We have just met the neighbors while we’re both outside doing things. When new neighbors moved in next door, we happened to be outside working on the yard while they were moving in, so it was a good time to meet them.
Don’t worry about it too much, meeting the new neighbors just happens in time 🙂
