I posted something very similar here after we’d ring-shopped, and we were having a staycation when I knew it was coming. Well, even though I was totally right about the day-of, I still had the lovely surprise of how he asked and how great it felt to know that I was all in with our plan to marry.

Keep in mind that not all of us get the total surprise moment, but that does not make it any less awesome.

This, to me, sounds like classic pre-engagement jitters and your hat is hanging on the “what if’s” around what you will feel or not feel. I’m in the same boat, waiting for a proprosal in the next couple of months. I am mostly excited to take this step with my boyfriend, but also acknowledge the change and step it represents which adds fear and pressure. Not everyone has that experience, but I do. And it sounds like you might too! I’m curious now that it’s 2020 if he popped the question and what you think about looking back at Dec.??
