I am in need of some creative ideas to label our tables at the reception, without using numbers. We are having a formal reception, at a private beach club in November (just to give you a feel). We do not have a theme, and we have only been on one vacation together (where we got engaged). Please help!!!!! P.S- I am pretty creative, so I won’t mind a challenge 🙂

On an episode of four weddings the couple named the tables with some of their fav song and when the song played that table got up and danced.

I am having a beach theme wedding and we are naming our tables after beaches that are significant to us. Example: we got engaged at virginia beach. Maybe you could try something like that??

How about important dates with a blurb about what happened on that date?
Like your bdays, first date, engagement date, etc
Or places/things that mean something, like your favorite show, restaurant, location of the proposal, favorite dish to eat etc.

Different famous beaches around the world, differnent types of boats, books that are centered around beaches (ex. swiss family robinson, treasure island), Nautical terms, differnt knots, differnt nautical flags,

My friend named her tables with Disney movie names, then the DJ played a well-known song from that movie when it was time for that table to go up to the buffet. I thought it was really cute.
If you want something more personal, I’d do favourite things and special dates etc. Like the date you got engaged, your favourite restaurant, where you went on your first date….

I just saw a cute idea on Pintrest today.
They did their table numbers with pictures of them at that age. Table 9–Age 9 pics 🙂

We did ours using words of things that one of us or both of us enjoyed. Like Yankees, Snowboarding, Camping, Disney, Puppies, Baking, etc. And then along with the word that labelled it for guests we put a photo of one or both of us enjoying the activity/thing. Not necessarily a photo of both of us together or even a recent photo. But a fun picture that represented us and the activity. Our guests loved it, it brought a fun and personal touch to a themeless, formal wedding. We had them in cheap frames and our DJ played a little game to find a winner at each table to take the picture home.

We used places that were important in our relationship. We went on our first date to a restaurant called “SPRIS”, we got engaged at “GRAND CENTRAL STATION”, we met on-line on “PLENTY OF FISH”, etc. We named them after places that were important to us. We used their pictures and also attached a little card to the photo explaining it’s significance. We either used pics of us in those places or we drove around and took pictures of the venues. Lots of people said they really enjoyed it and we saw people walking around checking out the other table names.

I saw another bee on here who had table names that were her and FH’s favorite TV shows. Also I saw on Four weddings the tables named after songs, and when your table’s song was played, you got up and danced.

Ours were just large wooden letters of the alphabet, so we had table A, table B… etc I wanted it to be something simple and easy for people to find their tables
