@heathaah:  maybe she is just curious about it, since it is new and in her living space? I have a border collie/beagle mix and when she is into whatever it is she smells she sounds like darth vader.lol I totally understand how distracting the sound can be! Hopefully once your pup gets used to the smell she will stop, or at least cut down the amount of sniffing time.

@heathaah:  HAHAHA! So you are the source?! Guess you’ll have to have the baby to get the dog to stop! 😉

That is so interesting!  Nature is so amazing to me.

I don’t think giving a dog benedryl is anything to worry about.  We gave it to our dog under our vet’s recommendation, but it didn’t do much to her.  On the bright side, Iif the sniffing is being caused by your labor then it’s only temporary!

My best friend started having signs of labor last Friday – their chocolate lab started panting, pacing, and showing signs of nervousness almost immediately! When they left for the hospital my friends mom said that the dog became calm within an hour or two.

That is incredible! Isn’t it amazing what animals can sense?!
