Here is my dress! I just brought it yesterday and I can’t wait to put it on again! I was leaning towards a Ball Gown but ended up getting an Aline. I was wondering if I can use a ball gown crinoline or petticoat to make it more poofy?

You could try a hoop skirt, that is what I am going to use to make mine stand out more. It is also less heavy than crinoline and keeps your legs cool! Your dress is beautiful btw!

David’s bridal has ball gown slips for less than $100. I tried it on with both ballgowns and A-line dresses and it looked great with both!

It depends on where you want the poof to start. A ballgown crinoline and even a hoop skirt (depending) will start higher towards your natural waist giving that ball/bell look.
My dress was a dropped waist ball gown (similar to A-line) and I ended up getting a mermaid crinoline skirt to allow for added poof on the bottom. I didn’t want to take away from my waist and just wanted the poof in the bottom portion.
Here is a photo for an example…before the added poof:

@Treejewel19 Crinoline makes a huge difference! I want it to poof out more around my hips to give it more of a ballgown look. I was wondering if the dress will even allow it, though!
@mrsk2b Thanks so much!
I was thinking of buying a crinoline or petticoat on Ebay. Does anyone else have experience on this?

I definitely suggest a hoop skirt. your dress will look great with a hoop. 🙂 thats my dress, without and with a hoop.

Ooohh HappilyEverAfter54 I love how that poofs out!
Question, though, how do you sit in it? Does it just flatten itself out? I’m confused cuz I have images of this one old school movie I saw where the girl sat down and the hoop skirt kept it shape and it showed her undergarments.

@chazieurbie: lol it won’t pop up over your head… they are pretty easy to sit in you just pull both hoops together and it kind of bends inward towards the floor.
