My normal skin tone is a rosy redish pink. That I’m fine with but whenever I get nervous, stressed, excited, hot, etc… my face turns bright red. Considering I anticipate being all of the above on our wedding day, I’m pretty worried that I’m going to look ridiculous. I’m hoping to find a local MU artist that does airbrush so that I can hopefully cover some of my tomato colored skin but I don’t know how much that will help.
Does anyone have a similar problem? How did you deal on your wedding day?

I totally totally have this skin.
I have hydrocortisone cream by Clinique I use on my face.. it’s gentle and helps a LOT.
I use a green tinted powder (to counteract the red) as part of all the makeup…
It does pretty well. My chest on the other hand will likely need some photoshopping to remove the flush 🙂
It’s super annoying but that’s worked for events and my first wedding, so hopefully the same holds true this weekend!

I get lots of red blotches on my neck and face when I am nervous. I don’t know what I am going to do either!

My friend always complained about getting too red,she bought this special powder to wear under her makeup that has a greenish tint to it to counter the redness, but I dont know the name of the product, if you go to a makeup store like sephora they should be able to direct u to the right product

my face gets totally flushed too.
I use Murad moisturizer. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P72003&categoryId=B70
for the big day I would use something like Smashbox photo finish correcting foundation primer http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P78811&categoryId=B70
Anything that is green toned is going to help balance out the redness.

I have the same problem. I’m hoping my makeup artist will be able to help take care of it.

@UpstateCait: I swear I get red even if the wind blows just a little bit. My makeup covered it, I think. for all I know though the photographer fixed it lol

There is a line of products from Origins (www.origins.com) from a Dr. Weil – they have a mushroom based face serum that I put on my skin before my makeup that has done wonders! It heals sunburns in no time at all, but it also has helped my skin from being so red naturally or in stressful situations. Especially if you use it regularly, I have really seen a difference!

Darphin’s Intral line is good. I have rosacea and generally blotchy skin. It’s very expensive, but worth it to me. People have complimented me on my skin since I’ve started using it. I use the anti-redness serum and the cream (greent tint) at about $100 each.

Not sure how much you are willing to spend to treat the problem but I would suggest seeing a dermatologist. I don’t have your excessive flushing issues, but I have very ruddy/blotchy skin from past acne and being sensitive to everything. My dermatologist recommended two treatments of IPL and I’ve so far had one. It’s a laser treatment desired for rosacea/redness/enlarged pores and there is no usually no downtime (no peeling, burned look). After one treatment I feel confident enough to leave the house without foundation on for the first time since middle school. It does cost about $350 per treatment though.
