What I would do is group together all the things that are in the same category, then decide which one you like more than the others. Then make a list of exactly what you are going to make/do. Sort the list by how long they take to do. Then start doing them as they come up.

Try to decide on a theme. That will help eliminate pretty things that just  don’t quite fit your wedding.

I have a lot of Pinterest boards too, and while I still have wayyy too much stuff pinned, seeing things side-by-side on each board helps me choose. For example, I created a board for favors. That helped narrow it down to one, so I bought the supplies, made the favors (tea in test tubes!), and then deleted the Pinterest board so I don’t look back and have any regrets.

I say stick to one way of organizing your ideas. I chose Pinterest because I hate printing things out – the papers end up getting all over the place. I started out with one massive Pinterest board, but now I have it divided into categories – flowers, wedding party attire, escort cards, favors, invites/paper goods, wedding signs (i.e. chalkboards), and general wedding inspiration.

Okay, and lastly – just breathe! If you choose one card box and end up changing your mind, or wish you had done something different, it really doesn’t matter in the end! You’re getting married and that’s what’s important 🙂 The DIY stuff can get overwhelming, but don’t sweat it. Very little of it is actually necessary so if you get tired of worrying about something then skip it!

@MsVoyageur:  I second the idea of using pinterest!!!  It’s great.  You can see everything you like laid out neatly.  It makes it easier to compare items.  And I second getting a theme or at least a general idea of what look you’re going for.  When you have a general idea of what look you want for your wedding it’s easy to rule out items on your boards.

I had a massive board to begin with and to a certain point my main wedding board is still quite large, lol.  But since we’re looking to talk to a bakery soon for cakes I separated all the wedding cakes we liked out and grouped them together.  Turns out most of what I pinned has ruffles so if that’s feesable to do than we will more than likely get a ruffly cake.  You start to see ideas that match up nicely.  Or stuff that is similar to one another in some way.  I love mason jars and they kept popping up so they’ll be used at my wedding in various ways.

=)  DIY projects are fun but if something starts stressing you out take a break from it. Things will turn out better if you start them early, take your time, step away when you’re annoyed with things, and then complete them w/plenty of time ahead of the wedding.  Good luck!

I dunno if you have pinterest yet but if you would like to see my boards you can PM me and I’ll link you.
