Martha Stewart Weddings had an article about using ceramic plates instead of a guest book. It looked amazing and I’ve been thinking about it for our wedding actually.

I loved the look and it’s something you could display in your house, rather than have in a cupboard.

You can buy special markers at Michael’s that after guests sign, you bake the platter in the oven to seal the signatures.

You could ask someone at your local petroglyph/other pottery painting place if you would be able to take a plate, have guests sign it, and bring it back to fire. That way you could paint the background also.
