Hi everybody, I’m new here and i reaaaally hope I got the right place for my post. (in case I got it wrong, I am really sorry )
I’m Serena, 26, writing from Italy, and unfortunately I’m not getting married really soon… but in the meantime, while waiting for him to propose, I’m planning my (our) wedding and getting things ready (dress – my mom and I are making it -, birdcage veil, ribbon rose bouquet…)
I am also starting to prepare my shoes. I am doing a pair of (blue) glittered heels, and (in case something goes wrong with them during the reception) I wanted to make another pair… red, Wizzard of Oz style. But when I saw these gorgeous diy ruby slippers (sorry i don’t get to link the page to the words “ruby slippers” http://www.weddingbee.com/2013/01/11/red-rhinestone-wedding-shoes/#axzz3ByM5o3dL ) I fell in love with this project and decided I wanted my second pair to be like that.
At first I had bought a pair of black flats, but I would have had to dye them so I started looking for a red pair, and yesterday I found one (which by chance matches the color of my kitchen forniture perfectly) for 13,90 Euros.
(I attach image) I am planning to buy rhinestones and E6000 adhesive on ebay tomorrow… my problem is: these shoes are made of a shiny material, i suppose it’s plastic… in order to allow the stones to stay fixed better on the shoe surface, should I use some sandpaper on the surface? I am just afraid it’ll ruin them I need diy experts’ help
Thank you and again sorry if i posted in the wrong place
