Dear fellow weddingbees:
I am having trouble printing my picture template on precut 4 by 6 paper. I don’t know what settings to use on the printer…even when I manually feed the card stock, the picture keeps printing as if it were printing on a 8.5 by 11 paper. Please advise on what settings I need to use on the printer.

I think it may need to be a setting in your document. If you are using microsoft word, go to page setup and set the size of the page to be the size of your paper. Keep in mind it will also have to print some margins, unless you are using a special photo printer.

Thanks candy kiss. I was using both word and the word photo and for some reason I couldn’t find the setting of the size of the paper to be 4 by 6. They have predefined paper settings.

@piyo: Did you get it to work? If you go to print, then click printer preferences, you need to select the paper size that you are using. You can remove margins if needed.
Don’t use your nice card stock to print test pages, cut a peice of regular paper and do that until you get it right

@candykiss and @MsJ2theZ: I think I know the reason I am not able to customize the paper size since I am using a jpeg file on Windows picture and fax viewer. ANyone know how I can copy that over to Word or print from the picture/fax viewer?
Thanks!

@piyo: You should be able to change the paper size and print FROM the picture/fax viewer. On mine if I go to print, I get the photo printing wizard, select the picture then next, get the “what printer do you want to use” screen and click on the “printing preferences” button, then select the “Advanced” button on the paper/quality tab, then select your paper size from the drop down. I don’t get a ton of great options on mine but I think trying the A5 would work if you don’t get 4×6. Like i said, try it on regular paper till it works.

@MsJ2theZ: I tried that option and even customize to 4 by 6, and clicked OK. When I hit print, it asks whether I want full size page print and I clicked that option, it failed. Then when I hit print to 4 x 6 cutout, it failed as well.

@MsJ2theZ: It printed but as if it was printing on an A4 size…so basically only part of the postcard (one quarter) got printed on the 4 x 6 card…

OK I’m an idiot I just assumed A4 was a bit smaller than A7 when in reality it’s humongous lol… I can’t find the appropriate paper size in the optoins, I wish they would give more. But I WAS able to save the png I was playing with in the fax viewer, into a JPEG. Then opened word and went to Insert, Picture, and then it shows in word.

🙁 I don’t know how else to help without having the actual file and trying myself. I’m sorry!
