@luckylady3090:  I always pronounce it “lynn” and then if I’m corrected, can switch. I’m easily trained.

@luckylady3090: Most people pronounce it ‘correctly’ without needing to be told – and if they don’t, well, it doesn’t really bother me enough to correct them.

Also, I go by ‘Maddie’ 99% of the time, so it’s even less of an issue.

I would probably say “Mad-uh-lane” if I saw it spelled that way.

i posted about this name and this exact problem a few weeks ago haha!

we love the name Madelyn but i was unsure of the spelling. i like the look of Madelyn, but Madeleine is the more classic spelling – but we dont want it to be pronounced Mad-e-line. we like Mad-e-lyn. i think as an english speaking/reading country most people will pronounce it as Line at the end (IMO) so if we do use this name were going to spell it Madelyn

Mahduhlenne

..accelerate the beginning and middle and instead linger on the end “enne” and let it tail off.

luckylady3090:  I’d say Mad-a-lyn.  I’ve hear Maad-lyn and Ma-da-line
