I’m interested to hear about this — my wedding is outside on grass.  What can I do to prevent grass stains?

From what I’ve read on these dress boards a good dry cleaner can get almost any norml stain on a wedding dress off. Try not to worry about it too much!

@sweetdee522:  I know some dresses have a thin strip of horsehair all along the inside of the bottom hem. This can’t work for every gown, it depends on the type of skirt you have and how you want it to sit. The horsehair stiffens it a little so it won’t be as flowy. It also won’t help avoid dirt, but it does help with possibly tearing. I would recommend having it hemmed to a height where you can just hold it up a bit (not completely carry it) to help avoid the dirt. And then get it cleaned of course.

My brother just got married in New Orleans, so I have to ask…why would you be walking around the dirty streets all day in your wedding gown??!  Are you getting married in the middle of the road on Bourbon Street?  That place is absolutely filthy, and there will be nothing you can do to protect your dress.  If you’re just worried about hopping in and out of the car when you go from the hotel to the church to the reception place, etc., then just hold up your dress and don’t stress about it.

I was not outside much at all a few photos and to and from church and reception. The bottomfew inches of my dress was filthy. Poeple stepped on it accidentally. Walked on it. I danced and walked around the venue. Its white even a clean indoor venue withheld causenit to get dirty. Just be aware of anyone standing on it (yes even when bssled it will happen and my dress wasn’t too long) and don’t pull that should help with tears. I didn’t have any. I got my dress cleaned and there isn’t a spot on it. I would just say look into a really good cleaner and not worry about it. You want to enjoy your day not be stresses about a dress.
