So, a couple days ago I was offered a fantastic job…we’re talking $10/hr, full benefits, and they’ll transfer me when Fiance and I move in a couple of months. They want me to start in three weeks. That means that I need to give notice at my nanny job. I have no idea how to tell her that I’m quitting though. Any helpful tips? I love these kids but this new job is too good to pass up.
Thanks in advance!

@kyrstien: First off tell her as soon as possible since she’ll have to find a new nanny.
Just tell her what you told us, that you love the kids but a new opportunity has come up that is too good for you to pass up.
Let her know how long you can work for her so she knows how much time she has to find a new nanny.

You need to ask to speak with her ASAP so she can find someone else to fill your spot. Two weeks in the job world is preferred notice, but since your dealing with a family and kids, the more time the better!

Do it right away and be up front. Make sure she knows it’s because of the great new opportunity, rather than because you’re unhappy. And congratulations!!
