Hmm…is there a reason why he wouldn’t be able to walk? Perhaps he doesn’t want to say yes to get your hopes up and then not be able to follow through?  Or is he not supporting your decision to get married?  Problems with the fiance?

Whats your relationship like?  Do you have a gut feeling as to why hed respond that way? Does he approve of you FH?  Give us some insight so we can maybe give some better advice.

Is he struggling with mobility problems??  I know my grandfather really would’ve liked to have danced with me at the wedding, but he was afraid to because of his mobility issues.  If he doesn’t have any sort of trouble walking, that’s a really strange comment.

I am sure it’s not that he doesn’t want to…what father wouldn’t want to? He may just be having trouble truly visualizing the wedding day, and sad about “letting you go.” That’s how my dad is feeling right now, I think.

I think instead of saying “will you be walking me down the aisle” say “Dad, there is no one I’d rather have walk me down the aisle, will you please do it for me?”

When people feel loved, they are more likely to say yes. If you have a difficult dynamic going on, sometimes it needs to be said more than you think. And it can never hurt to flatter the people you love.Kiss
