So i had to take a break from the gym as I had a severe cold (I couldnt’ even walk without starting to cough up a lung!) and I’m really having a hard time getting back.
Part of it is I’m completely lacking motivation because I really saw no difference after 3 months.
I tracked everything I ate, making sure to drink lots of water, eating mostly veg, whole grains, lean protein. I made sure that I was only eating 1500 calories a day or less, completely cut out fast food, allowed myself only 2 ‘cheat’ snacks a week (things like a small bowl of ice cream or a bag of chips or whatever). If I was craving a treat and it wasn’t a ‘cheat snack’ day I’d have 1 piece of dark (70%) chocolate.
My gym routine consisted of cardio for at least 30 minutes at least 4X week (usually closer to 45 minutes) and weights for an hour at least 4 times a week. For cardio I would do Zumba 2X/week for 45 minutes and run on a treadmill 2-3 X/week for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes
I weighed and measured myself 3 times a week (like measured hips, arms, waist, legs, bust etc) and saw no change at all. No inches lost, and after 3 months I had lost a grand total of 0 lbs. I felt like I was putting in a ton of effort, making sure to eat way healthier and work out a lot and was so sad when I saw no change at all. It’s not that I don’t have weight to lose either. I’m 150 lbs, and can see that my arms/legs/ waist etc have extra fat on them. I also didn’t notice any difference in the way my clothes fit.
Any tips on how to get back to the gym even though I’m completely lacking motivation? I need to at least have more toned arms by my wedding which is in 5 months! I’m worried that I won’t ever see any results.
