SO and I have been TTC for four months now. I seem to be the type of woman who over analizes everything and convinces myself that this is our month and we may finally be knocked up. I’m not a charter but we do BD everyday. I have been told by many people to just “relax”, “stop trying”, Or “dont think about it”…
How do you stop thinking about something you want so badly and how do you girls stay positive in the sea of BFN?

I don’t think you really can stop thinking about it, especially when you’re investing so much effort into conceiving. Perhaps charting might be your solution; there are several reasons why you might not be getting pregnant. Charting will help you know if you’re ovulating, BD-ing at the right time & have a long enough luteal phase to support pregnancy. Eliminating those variables was a big weight off my shoulders.

It’s awful, I know. I’m not even ttc yet and I keep seeing babies and it hurts me. It’s horrible! I don’t know what to suggest – but I do wish you lots of luck and I’m sure you’ll get what you are hoping for very soon!

If you figure out how to stop wanting it and how to “relax” (by the way, fair warning, if anyone says that to me, I WILL sucker punch them), please let me know. I’ve not found a way to. As for the rest, you keep going because to stop would be worse.
By The Way, depending on your DH’s count, everyday sex, might actually be counterproductive. They suggest every other day instead for higher sperm counts when you DTD.

We are not TTC but i am the same type as you :). Sometimes when i overly obsess over things i just tell myself to seriously STOP! because these thoughts don’t help me and make me feel worse. It’s not uncommon to take more then a few months, there is nog reason at the moment for you to worry

@MrsRugbee: I agree with this. Also @dodgercpkl: makes a great point. BD every day vs EOD can actually be worse. That is why charting to know when/if you are Oing and planing your EOD around that will be very helpful.
