What kinds of things does he like, do you do together, what are your plans this weekend? Might give us some direction!

I totally understand your desire to have a sort of “big reveal”, but I think there’s a lot to be said about sneaking it in there. “Honey, here, let’s try on our rings just one more time (if you’ve ever done it before / are okay with it).” Maybe use the excuse that you want to make sure they’re absolutely perfect with no imperfections that need to be fixed / buffed out before the big day. If he doesn’t look inside on his own (my fiancé may be weird in his apparently compulsive need to inspect things from all angles), maybe look inside yours and say, “I wonder if this serial number is on every band, or if this is specific to my ring.” Something to draw his attention there.

But that’s just me. I totally get that this approach isn’t for everyone.

I don’t have any great ideas for the reveal, but I absolutely LOVE what you engraved!!! I’ve been thinking of engraving FI’s wedding band for a while now, but haven’t been able to think of what I want. I’ve joked about putting our wedding date so that he won’t ever forget our anniversary lol, but I know I don’t want just that.

@arametta127:  Something to consider, if you do decide to do it, is to engrave it in your handwriting. Even if you think that “just” your wedding date isn’t enough, or special enough, having it in your handwriting is something that will set it apart from any ring, no matter how many rings are engraved with that same date, even on the same band.

By no means am I saying that using a predetermined font isn’t wonderful! I think all engravings are incredibly sweet and ultimately perfect. I’m just saying that engraving your handwriting is an option if you think sometning “just” or “not enough”.

Not everyone offers this option, but look for places that will engrave logos inside of the ring (or outside, if that’s where you want it). Weisfield Jewelers will engrave a logo (handwriting is considered such and you just give them the sample on a flash drive in .jpg form) and they engrave on rings bought anywhere, not just in their own shop.

We’re doing ours that way, and at Weisfield. My handwriting will be inside of his band, and his inside of mine. It’s an incredibly simple engraving, but the personal touch makes it absolutely perfect!

scavenger hunt? I don’t really have much ideas other than maybe pick a place that’s special to the two of you? I love what you engraved, btw ๐Ÿ™‚

@ellisrobertson:  OMG I actually love that idea!! I kinda hate my handwriting, however, it adds such a personal touch! I’ll definitely have to look into that!!

Yay for being date twins BTW!!! Laughing
