My wedding ceremony and reception will be a total of 3.5 hours long. I have one photographer and one videographer; they are both hired for only 3.5 hours. The reception food is included in the venue rental, which is a yacht. I have a total of 40 guests. The cost for the yacht includes ceremony and reception and it is about 6K.
I googled the amount of appropriate gratuity for yacht chartering and some websites said 10 to 15%. Even at 10%, that is tipping a $600 to the yacht crew. That seems like a lot to me. How much do you think I should tip the yacht crew?
As for the photographer and videographer hired for 3.5 hours, do you think I should feed them at the reception? I asked the venue and they said that they do not have vendor meals prepared and that we are not allowed to bring outside food onboard the yacht. So in other words, if I want to feed my photographer and videographer, I will have to pay for their plates the same price I paid for the guests. I will tip them at the end of their service. Do you think it would be rude for me not to give them a meal?
