My fiance and I just got engaged in mid-September, and we’ve already received a few gifts from folks, mostly people in the Greek community who have watched me grow up. I want to make sure that I personally and promptly thank EVERYONE for any gifts they give us, and I was hoping y’all could share your systems to track gifts and send thank you notes. How did you keep track of everything and determine who sent the note? Also, since I haven’t ordered my wedding stationary yet, does anyone have any suggestions as to what stationary I should use to respond to these lovely, generous folks?

I used Excel for EVERYTHING — addresses, gifts, seating chart, food, etc. It was great!

We had an excel sheet we uploaded to google docs- has everyone’s addresses, and I had rows to track gifts/thank yous- easy!

I have been using The Knot for our guest list. It’s been SUPER helpful. We use a spreadsheet for our wedding checklist, but I really like how everything around the guest list is all set up – when you’re first coming up with a guest list, you type in people’s names and it helps you track how many people you’ve invited on each side (her family, her friends, his family, his friends). Once you start collecting addresses to send out save-the-dates/invitations, it has a place for you to type in addresses. (AND you can export all the addresses to Excel.) Once people start RSVP-ing, you can check them off as “accepted,” “declined,” or “no response,” and it keeps track. Easy peasy! You can type in what gift someone gave, the date you received it, the date the thank you note was sent, and any notes about the gift. And then the seating chart tool is linked to the guest list tool, so we’ve been using that this week to come up with our seating chart and it’s awesome. If you want to drag a family or couple to a different table, it lets you drag and drop individuals or parties. Anyways, it’s worth checking out, it’s been so so helpful for us!
