@csteen85:  Can’t you just get the stones tightened in the original setting, fix any that are chipped, etc. and wear it with your e-ring (and maybe get another wedding band too if you want)? That’s what I would do!

I think it looks great with your e-ring! Just have them fix the setting/tighten the stones, it should work!

@csteen85:  Unless it’s an eternity band I think they can size it no problem!

Agree w/PPs.  Your jeweler should be able to fix all that.

I think it looks great! Have it resized (loose stone fixed) and wear it with pride!

@csteen85:  Whoa – this was like reading my own band story! Mine too, is from my great-grandmother and looks nearly identical. Plus, i’m from Long Island, too! Now, if you tell me the ring has some Irish history to it, too, i’m going to be really freaked out!

I am getting it professionally restored, with some new tiny diamonds added and a serious deep clean, and I will be using it for my weddng band. Resizing it will be no problem at all for a good jeweler. I have the name and number of someone in the diamond district I can pass along to you, if you are interested. I will also be getting a very small eternity band to wear as as a stack. I too, have a solitaire, so it will go great-grandmothers band/e-ring/new eternity band on my finger.

I dont know where on LI you are, but there is a place called Gennaro Jewelers in Bellmore. They repaired our family heirloom ring and resized it. They did an amazing job!
