My Mom wears her anniversary ring (25th) as a right hand ring. I will be getting an anniversary band (1-2mm, half eternity, black diamond) probably for our 10th, and I plan to wear it with my e-ring and wedding band.

It depends on the kind of anniversary ring you get. If you get a channel or prong set eternity or half eternity band, those are commonly worn last on your left ring finger. So you would wear your wedding band, your ER and then the anniversary band. If you choose a three stone ring, it would be your choice as to whether you would wear it as a RHR or wear it in place of your ER. I received a channel set anniversary band on our 7th anniversary and then upgraded the ER on our 15th anniversary (keeping the original; I did not trade it in). Upgrading to a larger stone in your ER is fairly common among some groups of people, and that is a decision that is entirely up to you and your Darling Husband. In our case, we decided that the marriage is what matters most, and the ring we use to symbolize it can be changed up because the meaning is the same regardless of what I wear or don’t wear.

What if instead of upgrading and trading in your ring you simply reset your beautiful stone in another setting? Then you could wear your wedding band, and your anniversary/engagement ring. I have seen people wear their rings all different ways, I think it is just what is most comfortable to you, or what you like.

a friend of mine had a custom RHR made for her 5 year anniversay, she and her husband plan to renew their vows every 5 years in a different city in the world (they’re travel bugs)
