Steel washers. Just a couple of quick stiches and you are all set. get the heaviest ones and attach them in various places. I even used some in the middle to give it extra weight for real windy days.

Test walking on it outdoors!

I re-used my friend’s, which was perfect for her indoor wedding, but very hard to walk on in grass (even with wedge sandals).

@aniadenver: I don’t have ideas, but if you don’t mind sharing I would LOVE to see some pictures of your finished runner. I’m planning to start mine soon.

One of the other bees said hot glue rocks on the bottom.  Washers would work as well but rocks are free!  🙂

I made a swirly pattern one but decided I don’t like it so I am ripping them up and just doing our initials.

I wonder if after doing either rocks or washers on the underside if sprinkleing some glass stones (like you put in vases) from the hobby store along the edges in random spots would help too and give a little sparkle.  My concern for weight only on the bottom is if the wind catches it you will have spots in between the weights that will billow up.  the glass stones could go in between the weights to stop this from happening.  Just an idea.

I wonder also if putting a little loop underneath and using small tent pegs would work if it’s going into grass, then it’ll hold it in place.. just a random thought.. 🙂
