monsterly: The OP may have been a bit blunt, but that was not the question that was asked. The OP never said she was going to split up couples. She said family will be invited to the ceremony and friends would be added for the reception.

I think your new version is super cute and gets the right info across!

juneberries:   The latest version is perfect for those invited only to the reception.

juneberries:  Usually, you get a deadline for numbers from your venue. Has your venue given you a date by which you need to give them final numbers? You will want your rsvp date to be about 2 weeks before that, so you have time to make phone calls and track down the non-responders. You could make it the week before if you are sure you will have enough time during that week to make your calls.

juneberries:  I would ask for RSVP cards back by July if I were you. I plan to ask for them to be sent back a month out as well!

We are also having an intimate ceremony with just family.

My planner just finished with the wording and ours is:

“Together with their families, bride and groom request the honour of your presence at their wedding reception Saturday, August 13, 2016 at five thirty in the evening”

Followed by the venue location and address.

There will be a separate slip for family with the ceremony details.

The cut off date for our RSVP’s is July 1st.

Thanks so much for this topic. We are doing the exact same thing… family only to small intimate ceremony then close friends will be added to the reception.

Im working on the invitations now & its been difficult.
