First things first, cross your fingers for me that the park I just contacted allows alcohol…if so, I’ll have a venue for $150!!!!!!!
Second things second, regardless of where we get married, we want to have an “after party” downtown. The venues available all close at 9pm, so we wanted to go downtown for more drinks and more fun. However, all the places that allow “large” groups put a size limit on the group of…25. We’re not going to have a HUGE wedding, but we’ll certainly have more than 25 people. Now…I’d like to have an idea before the wedding of how many people actually want to go downtown. If the number who are interested is close to 25, we’ll go ahead with one of the options. If it’s far more, we have to figure something else out…
Is there a good way to ask? Can it go right on the RSVP cards?

I’d probably ask more informally than on the RSVP cards. Can you call people?

I went to a wedding where they did this and they announced it at the wedding. I would say a small group attended…most just wanted to go home. But, if you think your guests will be game for this, can you start a facebook after party invite and put in a separate insert card that says “Join us for the afterparty! RSVP at Facebook event XXXXXX” by XXX” This could be a more “fun” looking card, even DIY, in a more casual paper or one of the colours of your wedding…

I would do an evite, a fb event, or signupgenius for the after party – it’s an add-on to the wedding itself, so I wouldn’t put it on the rsvp cards.

Facebook is a great idea…most of those who would go are on facebook. Thanks!
Hopefully only 23 other people want to come along! ha.
