I can’t help but laugh and laugh some more!!!
We’re having a destination wedding, and I called the hotel where we are having our reception to reserve some rooms. I asked for a 2 bedroom suite because I’m sharing the room with my mom the night before the wedding and it will be the room I am going to get ready in on the wedding day. Granted the hotel is old, but I did not expect this:
Especially when our reception room is this:
Now, I have to call and cancel my reservation tomorrow. Has anyone seen anything more hideous than that bedroom? WOW!!! And the best part: It’s $329 a night!!
If you’ve come across some hideous rooms, please share! It’s been a rough week, so I don’t mind the extra laughs!

I must be crazy, because I actually LOVE it. I have a gaudy/over the top alter ego though.
It reminds me of Marie Antoinette.

Whew! There’s a lot goin’ on in there! 🙂 I hear the Mad Hatter books that room for tea on Sundays. I hope you find a more soothing room for yourself.

I love the room! It’s so vintage/victorian!!

LOL. Ew. It’s slightly charming in it’s own way, but I wouldn’t wanna sleep there.

I love your reception venue but the room you are staying in is, um, well, full of character? lol

Actually, I don’t think it is ugly. I think it has character and is very charming. I would be happy to stay there 🙂

@Ms.Pink: Uh oh. Sorry! lol It’s just not my style. I’m more modern, but like boring neutral colors. I just wasn’t expecting this loud room when I heard it was the Governor’s Suite.
@Cornflakegirl: Too funny!!
@MrsStrawberry24: The wedding is in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They have other rooms, but some are just as bad. I’m looking into other hotels, just in case. There’s got to be something a little more modern. Oh, and it’s definitely not where we are staying for our honeymoon night!
I emailed my photographer and she said she’s been in some uglier rooms at the same hotel, so I guess that’s a positive? She said it would be perfectly fine in that room…but I think I’m going to keep looking around just in case.

I actually love that room, though. It’s kind of…quirky vintage, I guess? Hope you find something that better suits your tastes. 🙂

I’ve slept in worse…. some very empty ones with paper thin walls and such… lol I kind of like that room however lol.

@heather5743: Haha, oh you don’t have to apologize. I am well aware of my different preferences 🙂 I hope you find something you like better! I would feel like I was staying in Versailles

hahah im laughing because ive been looking at hotels today and nearly booked the Hotel Windor in melbourne but the wing tapestry chairs and victorian furnishings just kept me hesitating

It does have a lot of character, and I’m usually all about that, but I just don’t know about all the colors (the walls, the carpet, the door frames). I do get vintage-y/victorian though. My two venues are more elegant/classy looking, so I guess I was just hoping the Governor’s Suite would be similar to that look.

love your reception room though – light, clean and sunny
