Second Christmas was lowkey.  We weren’t able to go see either family so we just hung out at home.

It was awesome! This year on xmas eve we decided that we would just stay home and open up all of our gifts to eachother that night over a couple glasses of wine.  So that in the morning we weren’t rushing around to start house hopping.  It was so nice and wonderful to just have a moment for ourselves.

@PrncssDva: My husband was out of town for work until the middle of the month and we didn’t know if he would get back before Christmas so we couldn’t make plans.

@PrncssDva: I made some Zucchini Garden Chowder, not a big special meal.

mm talk of chowder is making me hungry and wanting to be home and warm!!

Our first Christmas was really nice – we spent Christmas eve with my mom and all day Christmas there as well – my mom made gingerbread houses from scratch for us to decorate so that was a lot of fun! Then we slept at my moms house with my 2 brothers and one of their girlfriends – it was like a big slumber party and a lot of fun!

Ours was really nice also.  We spent christmas morning just the two of us and then we left around noon to visit families.  We had just received our wedding video that week so instead of watching it right away we wrapped it and put it under the tree.  We watched it christmas morning while opening presents.  It was pretty special.

It was our 2nd, but so good. We were wed right before Christmas last year (1 week) and it felt a little surreal, but this year was fun. We opened presents with his fam on Monday and then spent Christmas Eve just the 2 of us. We woke up Christmas day and went up to my mom’s house to spend the day with mom, sis, etc.

Very chill and fun.

AAAAMAZING!!! We went home to Chicago to visit my parents, since we see his all the time (and my big 3-0 is tomorrow, so my mom wanted to see me). We laughed all weekend long, snuggled in front of the fire, wandered around downtown in the snow at night, played with out collective dogs, cooked some super delicious food, and just got used to being one big family. It was honestly the best Christmas I’ve ever had ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

It was great and relaxed. My Darling Husband had 3 days off (he might have 1 day/ month off) and played card games, watched movies, and I cooked dinner. We didn’t see any of our family since we live 6 hours away and he admitteed that he liked it that way:)

We’re not married yet, but this was our first joint Christmas together since we moved in together in August and got engaged in October. We never shared holidays until this year, and we ended up having 5 Christmases! It was fun, but a big change for me since I usually only see my mom and sister and now we’re making the rounds to a ton of our extended families.

We had a great time though! It was a surreal and wonderful experience. I’m glad we had a chance to see a bunch of people in the context of being almost married, since we’ll see everyone again at the wedding in a few months.

We did Christmas morning just us, and it was great too. I really enjoyed having time for just us and the dog.
