That sounds lovely!  DH hasn’t been feeling well for a few days so we kept it low key. We made homemade pizza and watched some Netflix. He went to bed a little while ago and I’m hanging out with our dogs. But our gift to ourselves was tickets to a jazz show later in the week. We’ll go out to dinner and celebrate a bit more on that night.

Awesome and cute. Considering We are broke and FI had a shitty day at work V day was still pretty good! ❤

I woke up to this…

Then he sent me this Valentine with a poem on FB:

O my Luve’s like a red, red rose,

That’s newly sprung in June:

O my Luve’s like the melodie,

That’s sweetly play’d in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonie lass,

So deep in luve am I;

And I will luve thee still, my dear,

Till a’ the seas gang dry.

Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,

And the rocks melt wi’ the sun;

And I will luve thee still, my dear,

While the sands o’ life shall run.

And fare-thee-weel, my only Luve!

And fare-thee-weel, a while!

And I will come again, my Luve,

Tho’ ’twere ten thousand mile!

<3 ― Robert Burns, Hear Red, Red Rose

“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind,

And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.”

<3 ― William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream

We send each other some cute memes and videos..

When he got home we opened the gift I ordered on Vistaprint he didnt know what it was I designed it (aka stole a picture we liked and had 2 mugs made)

Cute T-rexes are our inside joke 😂 vistaprint made 2 cute mugs 🙂 and I got him a card too.

Then he made me steak dinner with asparagus and fries and the most delicious steak. 😍 OMG i would sell my soul for some of his cooking.

Then we ate some cupkakes/macaroons and chocolates I got earlier… and watched 2 episodes of Gotham.

And then we went to bed.  😜

It was a good day. I was off and got to run some errands too. 🙂

That sounds amazing! FI was working and I was at home. I spent a lot of the day figuring out my income for 2016 and seeing if I have to file a U.S. tax return (I don’t thank heavens). Then I set up for our weekly family dinner and everyone was over. Great barbecue dinner and amazing potato bake. FI brought me a nice card and a single rose.

We both had work but my fiancé took some “Flexi leave” to surprise me at home early! We are lucky ladies!

Your valentines all sound amazing!

I got FI some French macarons from a lady I know who makes them, he bought me flowers and a pestle & mortar!

I knew about the pestle & mortar but the flowers were a total surprise 🙂

Then we went for an over indulgent dinner and had cocktails and burgers. It was good.

I was hit with another bout of morning sickness, so I just lazed around the house all day, and DH had errands to run all day I guess…. I woke up to see him in bed with me later, but… Not even some flowers or a simple card… I can’t help feeling just a touch letdown … He knows I adore mushy stuff. Brought me a small teddy bear and a frappe one time when I was sick and I practically cried lol … This year was a disappointment .. :/ … There is like a 20% chance that he really just didn’t have time, and that he will make up for it on a later date… But I really almost would have just preferred a BIT more planning and on the day itself.. Even if it was literally just a card! :/

We decided early on in our relationship that we both agreed valentines is a bit over rated. We like to do a date night either before or afterwards instead when its not so busy and all the prices for everything ar back to normal. His exact words to me when I got home last night were “seeing as I didnt get you any of that Valentines shit, do you want to get a chinese?” lol. We decided do have it at the weekend instead when we both have more time to relax.

Jacqui90 :  That’s so sweet, thanks. We exchanged messages, but he’s on a boat so the signal isn’t good enough for Skype or anything. To be fair, if he’d been here we probably wouldn’t have done anything special, but being alone still sucks!

We spent all day on planes/in airports getting home from Israel. We made it though!

We did a get a couples massage on Sunday though, so that was kind of our Valentine’s Day thing.

Good! Fiancé and I are living apart atm so we exchanged cards on Sunday and opened them together via Skype. We agreed to keep it low key since we are planning on celebrating this weekend as it is our anniversary but he ended up surprising me by having a bouquet of roses delivered 🙂

It was good. We went out for drinks and picked up cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. He got me a jacket from Lululemon and I got him clothes from Banana Republic for his new job position
