My fiancee and I actually started with a one night stand (blush). But from there it was pretty romantic. I lived in the US, he lives in Dubai. We started dating long distance for 2 years. Now he is moving here at the end of the year and we are getting married late next year. I just dont know how to put together our “story”. It was kind of by chance and perfect timing, but how do I put an appropriate spin on the “hookup” part? 🙂

msucardinal87 : Do you mean during your wedding speech?
Darling Husband and I hooked up the first night as it was love at first sight and we met through mutual friends. Our story is romantic with a ‘and the rest is history’ punchline and then I leave out the sex bit!

You could say sparks flew or you had instant chemistry!

My fiancee and I are from opposites sides and hemispheres of the earth! We met on facebook in a group called “ENTJ/INTJ/ENTP/INTP” on a post about perfume which eventually turned into us arguing about politics and capitalism.
The group still exists and is for people of those MBTI types. We are both “INTJs”. The group is not a dating site and neither of us were intending on such.
We started talking in facebook messenger because the admins said our comments went too off topic and it went from there! We then graduated to skype a few weeks after. 🙂
We met in person in Canada and I spent 2 and a half months with him. He then came to Australia for 2 and a half months. We then decided we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.
A year had past since we began our relationship and we got engaged and will be married after 2.5 years together.
It has been a long journey being in a long distance relationship…he will be moving to Australia permanently in April 2017. 🙂

kbmorintj : Its funny how two people on opposite sides of the planet end up together. I am not a huge believer in destiny, but it sure it a compelling reason! Congrats and I wish you the best! It’s always fun to hear other people’s stories – there are SO many unique ones out there!
