Mine doesn’t want us to have an engagement party or shower because it will be a pain for us to return all the gifts when we break up. Yeah, not my favorite person.

I only met my Future Mother-In-Law once.  She lives in Seattle, while we’re in DC, has all sorts of medical issues.  So it’s not that we don’t get along, but we’ll definitely never be “friends”  She seems to like me a lot, probably because she realizes how happy Fiance is with me, and how much I love him.

she’s great, i just can’t stand how she enables her middle son… but that’s the only issue.

My fiance was raised by his great aunt, and she passed away in March, which has been really hard on him. The same day as his aunt’s funeral we found out my mom has cancer. He gets along fine with my mom as long as she doesn’t try to hug him too much. His actual mom lives out of state and won’t be coming to the wedding. I have never talked to her or met her.

Sadly, FI’s mom is a drunk.  I only met her a couple times 🙁 and it was horrible.  I feel like such a downer-debbie on here!

my Future Mother-In-Law is a great woman, I have a lot of respect for her despite some differences we have.

We were quite close until a fight me and my SO had – she turns into mama rhino!! I was too scared to go to his house (we both live with our parents) for about 6 weeks. Thankfully, she’s quite good at putting on a brave face for her son (the golden child), and when he told her he wanted me (and said to me, “we’ll turn her around, if not, don’t care, love you too much”)… then it was all over and we’ve been lovely and civil ever since!
