Due to a spider bite, I had to cut my e-ring off today:( and its past repair. The stone in it was more a cluster of chips (good old Harry Ritchie’s told my FH that ‘the chips sparkle more than a solid stone’ and he bought it, silly boy) so there’s nothing really to reset, BUT I really want an e-ring to wear because its still quite a ways until The Big Day…and I feel naked without it. 🙁
I’m kicking around getting a nice moissy solitaire and a Tiffany-style setting to replace it with (would be a squeeze, but hopefully doable) or trading in my wedding set from my first marriage and getting something more substantial with that. I had hoped to save the “starter wedding set” to give to my son to trade in when he finds Miss Right, but as he’s only six, that’s a ways off.
How well do the moissy stones wear? All you ladies who have so graciously provided me with sparkle porn over the years since I divorced, Aware you still happy with them and haven’t had any clouding/chipping/scratching?
Any other ideas about what to do would be appreciated!

**Please no one start trouble on this thread**
@Mrslawtobe: Moissy is a forever stone. It is nearly as hard as diamond and it won’t cloud or discolor over time. There is honestly so much Moissy porn and so many Moissy reviews, I would just advise you to google “weddingbee moissanite” and give yourself a few hours to go through it. You’ll find all your answers there!

@Mrslawtobe: I’ve seen pics posted on the this sight of one which had a crush/ some sort of damage. I’m sure you could find the thread started by that bee. Maybe by searching “cracked moissanite”. From what I’ve read they seam durable over all. Not sure if anyone on here has had theirs for 15+ 20+ years to share the experience of long term everyday wear. Maybe you could make a pole for that.

@Mrslawtobe: I’ve only had my moissy for six months, but I am a huge klutz and constantly banging my ring on things accidentally. No damage yet (knocking on wood)!

I’ve had mine about a year and a half. It’s still lovely.

Thank you guys…I know moissy can be a sensitive subject, but I am a farm wife and life doesn’t always happen like it should…you know, giving one time to leave ones ring at home!
Being a huge klutz doesn’t help matters either 🙂
Thanks for the input…I’ll dig around a bit for the cracked moissanite thread!

Farm lifestyle here, too. I try to be practical, but sometimes rings have to “go along” with whatever comes up! I had a chipped moissy, but it arrived that way, probably happened during setting. Otherwise, I’ve worn moissanite for about six months, both solitaires in 4 prongs, with no damage. It’d be less costly to replace them, so one less worry there. No clouding or scratches- and they seem to stay clean! Sorry about your ring!

I have a moissy that I’ve had for four years and a new one as well. Both are as beautiful as the day I received them. They are forever stones and will defiantly stand the test of time. All stones can crack, even diamonds. Good luck.

I’ve had my moissy for about 3 years, I never take my ring off, and I’ve had no problems with it at all.
