I was working on the candy bar tonight, I have 7 containers and the candy picked out (not bought yet). I was talking to my mom saying that we should buy extra so the jars don’t look empty after people take stuff. She was saying that she doesn’t think we need to because hardly anybody will take the candy. We’re expecting around 225-250 people. How was your candy bar received? Did you need to re-stock it?

You’re going to need ALOT more than 7 jars…
Apperantly you should plan to have enough for 8 ounces of candy per guest.
We bought over 100lb of candy for our wedding which is going to have about 100 people at it…we have about 18 different containers for it too.

We’re doing 10oz per guest. I’ve read 6-8oz per person is the norm. I would suggest more containers, but of course it depends on size and if you have someone to keep it stocked. My coordinator will be keeping things full and tidy. If you have one, I’d ask them to monitor it. If not perhaps have a bridesmaid do it.
Oh and we have 10 containers and about 150 guests.

We had a TON of candy. We thought we bought way too much but decided we would rather be safe than sorry. It was a good thing we did because every single piece was gone by the end of the night! The staff at the venue had to keep refilling the bar and people just kept coming back for more. We only had 140 guests so you will certainly need more than 7 jars!

I’m not planning on having one but I’ve been to a wedding with a candy bar. Everyone mauled it in the first 15 minutes of the reception. By the time I got to it, it was just crumbs I wish they would have replinished it!

All ours went too. Replenished as it emptied but towards the end whatever was there was there.
You need way more containers and candy…
